What should I bring?

  • A current California fishing license (annual or one-day). These can be purchased on-line, in advance. We can no longer provide them on board. Please don’t forget the Sturgeon Report Card if you’d like to be able to retain a white sturgeon.

Where do we meet and park?

We will help you unload anything you would like to bring on your trip. Please meet us behind the boat at 250 Jefferson Street San Francisco, Ca 94133. Once there you will take your first left at the light on to Jones Street and then your first right on to Beach Street. Take your first drive way on your right which is Anchorage Square Parking Garage located at 500 Beach Street. I will validate the parking which will $14 for the day.

How long is the trip?

All of our trips depart at 6:00 AM. The half-day trip finishes between 11:30 AM and 12:00 PM. The full-day trip finishes between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. Private charters can customize these hours.

How many people can you take?

We carry a maximum of 6 passengers. All passengers, of all ages, are included in this count. This is a U.S. Coast Guard regulation we must adhere to.

Is there an age limit?

We welcome anglers of all ages. We enjoy having kids on board and it is a great experience for the whole family.

What kind of fish do you fishing for?

Our targeted species change throughout the year.

Is there a limit of fish that we can catch?

Each species has a regulated limit, set by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

What if we don’t want to keep any fish?

We do offer catch and release fishing. We normally target sharks for catch and release fishing as sharks are the most resilient.

Should we worry about seasickness?

Each individual reacts differently to being on the water. If you can consult your doctor ahead of time, that’s always the best preparation. Some over the counter products such as Bonine or Dramamine are sold to help prevent motion sickness.

What is your cancellation policy?

All reservations require a credit card deposit, which is only held, not processed. All cancelations must be made 7 days prior to the date of the trip. Any reservations canceled within 7 days of the trip will forfeit the full fare for each reservation canceled. Any reservation canceled prior to 7 days before the trip will result in a lift of the credit card holder and no fees at all.

If the day of the trip there is no show at your party, you will be required to make the lost fare. Cancellation due to weather: Deposit may be reapplied to a later date or fully refunded.

I can’t sing Captain Tom‘s praises enough! This is our second trip through Wild Wave with Tom and we have never been disappointed! Not only did my fiancé and I catch our limit on both trips, but Tom and his deckhands were so knowledgable and fun to be around! We would all pal around while waiting for hits – talking fishing, San Francisco, hobbies, pedicures, weddings, recipes, drinking, etc. It was such an easygoing morning. When we weren’t fighting monster fish, that is!
